Volunteer your time to make dinner, serve dinner, set up, and/or clean up at the Thursday evening Community Kitchen Dinners, an initiative that provides weekly home-cooked hot meals as a joint effort of six Downers Grove congregations to serve individuals who are food insecure in our Downers Grove community.

Come weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly – whatever your schedule allows! We invite individuals to prepare food and bring it to serve, and folks who only want to serve and clean up. All help is greatly needed and appreciated!

Please note: Any youth younger than 7th grade who wants to serve must have a parent volunteer with them. Please designate in the comments when you are signing up if you are a youth, with your age, and if you are participating for service hours.

Kim Bosch and Marty Wronkiewicz, who lead the Community Kitchen efforts at our church, thank the more than 80 volunteers who contribute to this effort with their time and service, cooking and baking skills, food donations for to-go meals, giving tree donations, and monetary donations.

Community Kitchen currently serves around 35 guests weekly. More than 3,800 meals have been served to over 130 different guests during the past year at the six Downers Grove churches that take turns hosting an evening of meals each week as part of this effort.

Thank you to everyone for making the Community Kitchen's weekly dinner a positive, safe, and compassionate experience for our guests and for our volunteers.
