Rally Day Weekend!

Celebrate Rally Day Weekend!

Rally Day weekend begins with Outdoor Movie NIght on Saturday, September 11 at 7:30 p.m. Join everyone in the north parking lot of the church for an outdoor movie. We will be showing The Odd Life of Timothy Green, an inspiring, magical story for the whole family. Cindy (played by Jennifer Garner) and Jim Green are a happily married couple who can't wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. When young Timothy shows up on their doorstep one stormy night, Cindy and Jim – and their small town of Stanleyville – learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life's greatest gifts. Bring a chair and a snack and we’ll see you at the movie!

Join us on Rally Day Sunday on Sunday, September 12 as we kick-off our new year and celebrate the coming season as a congregation. We will start with worship at 8:15 a.m. in the Chapel or 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary or online

After our 10:00 a.m. worship service, we will continue our celebration with Rally Day Activities and Lunch in Fishel Park. Everyone is invited to attend an All Church event Jimmy John's delivery, games, crafts, fellowship, and more from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m.

We will be ordering Jimmy John's for lunch, but we need your order in advance. Please fill out this Google form if you would like to order Jimmy John's (or you may call the church office). You may pay for your lunch on September 12 at the picnic; cost is $8 a person. You could also bring your own picnic lunch. Water and lemonade will be provided.

Children's Sabbath and Backpack Blessing Sunday

Join us for Children's Sabbath!
This Sunday, August 22

Celebrate children and youth all over the world at our worship services this Sunday! A wonderful service is planned with music provided by children and youth from our congregation, a blessing of backpacks, school supply item collection, and a special message at our 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. worship services.

If you are able, please bring school supplies to church with you. Children will be collecting items from members in the congregation during the service, so please keep the items in the pew with you. All school supplies will be donated to Kids Above All (formerly ChildServ).

A blessing of the backpacks is another special feature of our worship services this week. All students of all ages are invited to bring their backpacks and school bags to be blessed at the 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. services. It's a wonderful way to get the new school year off to a great start!

Please plan to join us for our special Sunday and feel free to invite others to participate in this holy Children's Sabbath service. See you Sunday!

In-person Worship
We have made the following changes to our policy in response to the recently revised CDC and State of Illinois guidelines:

  • No registrations are required to attend in-person worship, just join us in the sanctuary!
  • Masks are once again required in the church and during worship according to recent CDC and State of Illinois Health Department updates, even for those who are fully vaccinated.
  • For those who have not received a complete COVID-19 vaccine yet, wearing a mask and maintaining six feet of social distance are still required.
  • There will be no tracking method for checking vaccination records. We encourage everyone to become familiar with CDC guidelines and use best judgment.
  • We are now singing indoors during the service, but only after children have left for Sunday School.

All are welcome!

Can't Make it Sunday Morning?
Our live-streamed worship service will continue to be available for viewing on YouTube at any time. Recordings of past worship services on Zoom are available on our website here.

Messy Church - August 8, 2021

Hello Messy Friends,

This Sunday, August 8, is HAT DAY at Messy Church.  Everyone is invited to wear any hat they want...a silly hat, a serious hat, a hat with a story, a special hat, etc.   Our story and crafts for the day will focus on all the hats we wear.

Please come to the gym at 11:00 AM for Messy Church.  We will start with a story and short worship then move into our craft time.  There will be no lunch served.

Hope to see you at Messy with your hat on.  Also, we will be inside with children, so I ask that everyone wear a face mask.

Thanks and see you at Messy!

Pastor John
