PADS Giving Tree

The PADS Giving Tree is now up in the Parlor. Gifts for PADS families will be collected throughout December. Pick a tag from the tree, buy the gift, and return the unwrapped gift back under the tree to help make a PADS client warm and cozy this holiday season.

Gifts will be collected throughout December.

Alternative Gift Fair

For the next three Sundays in December, the Alternative Gift Fair will be held in the Parlor between the services. Many of you are familiar with the beautiful crafts handmade by the women of the UPAVIM (United for a Better Life) cooperative in Guatemala. Not only do they make ideal Christmas gifts for friends and family, you will also be supporting the women of La Esperanza in Guatemala City as they work to improve the quality of life for themselves and for their families through education, employment opportunities, daycare services for their children, health care services, and programs for personal and professional development. Choose from a large selection of colorful bags, scarves, Christmas ornaments, kitchen accessories, jewelry, and this year a new range of handcarved wooden spoons and bowls.

You can also contribute to the Heifer Project by purchasing living gifts that support programs to end hunger in the world.

Caroling Around the World – The Christmas Cantata

Caroling Around the World

Gather your friends and families and come enjoy the Chancel Choir Christmas Cantata, Caroling Around the World, this Sunday, December 2.

We open our hearts to familiar and new carols from 20 countries featuring vocal and instrumental soloists with the Chancel Choir.

Rev. John Smoke, our Christian Education Director, will lead the global tour for children, and projection designs will enhance our music without borders.

The 55-voice Chancel Choir is conducted by Ms. Diane Hires.

Clean Energy Petition

Concerned about our changing climate? Interested in clean energy to benefit our local communities? Stop by the Environmental Stewardship Work Area table in the parlor after services on Sunday, November 25, to sign a "clean energy petition postcard" to be submitted to your village leadership.

A new group, the DuPage Clean Energy Coalition, is collecting these postcards throughout DuPage County to let towns' leaders know that residents want to see more renewable energy like solar power. Together, we can act locally on climate change, help improve quality of life in our community, and make a big difference for our amazing planet.

The Giving Tree

This Christmas season we are again partnering with ChildServ and the People's Resource Center to provide gifts for those in need. Stop by the Parlor and pick a tag from one of the trees.

Gifts for ChildServ and the PRC need to be returned under the tree by Sunday, November 25 at noon.
