DGFUMC YOUTH MINISTRY
The Youth Group meets Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the Youth Center and participates in monthly events of fellowship. See our Upcoming Events on the right!
The Onward Bound program seeks to help young people in 7th and 8th grade become Disciples for Christ, through a combination of fellowship time, service opportunities, small group work, and recreation. The program culminates at the end of the 8th grade year with the student's decision to become a full and responsible church member at a confirmation ceremony.
The Chapel Choir rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:50pm in Fellowship Hall and sings every Sunday at the 9:30am worship service. There are approximately 75 members in the choir. The Chapel Choir performs a Christmas concert each year and goes on tour every Spring break.
Our youth get involved in mission trips each. Each year, junior high, high school, and post high youth travel to a different area whether down the street or across the country.
The Youth Ministries Work Area is responsible for planning the activities of Youth Ministries. If you are interested in getting involved with planning fun events become a member or simply come to a meeting to see what opportunities there are.
Adult Volunteers Needed!
We need your help to make all of this happen. It takes many adults to put together an event. Please contact our Youth Pastor Nick, if you are interested in being a chaperone. Our church has agreed to a Safe Sanctuary policy, which means we have committed to having two, unrelated, adults for every 10 students. With all of the fun events coming up, there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer!
