Good Friday
Good Friday Service
Our Good Friday service is based on Joseph Haydn’s Seven Last Words, a compelling work originally conceived in 1787. It is a meditation on the gravity of the death of Jesus, as well as on the possibilities of hope, redemption, and resurrection. This piano version of Haydn’s work is given on our beautiful sanctuary Steinway as transcribed and performed by William Phemister, a Steinway artist, music educator, composer, and active church musician for more than 60 years.
